Kilifi creek widens into a big lake and divides into dozens of channels, many of which are navigable.
At its narrowest part, a few hundred meters from the sea, a bridge connects Mnarani to Kilifi town.
Further inland the creek, at it's center is located a bird island and at the bottom side the junction with the Rare river in Tsavo.
This stunning scenery here round is the perfect place for nature lovers and bird watching excursions on a dhow boat cruise.
Kilifi is the yachter's meeting point. Kilifi boatyacht club is the place where to moor and anchor.

The best time to visit Kenya is during the cooler dry season from end of July to November when temperatures are comfortable and the game concentrations are at their highest.
December through the end of March are also good times to visit Kenya. The wildlife sightings are very good during the dry season, however the temperature can become incredibly hot at this time of year.
April, May and June are the wettest months, the green season with long and heavy rains at night also typically a rain shower every morning and afternoon. Although not traditionnally the best time to visit Kenya for safaris. But the rates are lower and the number of tourists less.
